I keep getting this error when trying to upload a banner: "SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data"
Has anyone else encountered this? I've uploaded banners on other lemmy instances with no issue. But lemm.ee seems to have issues with banners for some reason.

I get the same error but when i try and set an icon or banner. I tried multiple images, aspect ratios and file sizes.
EDIT: lemm.ee limits photo uploads to 100kb.

It is also a Size thing. Has to be smaller than 100kb in size.

What is the aspect ratio of the image? I got this error when I tried to upload a wide banner image, tried something more closer to a square, something like 4:3 and it worked. Let lemmy crop it to the correct ratio.

Just use an external url and its fine. Its due to the file size #
