Old thread but how I capture places and people I hold dearly is with stereograms. You basically make a photo for your left and right eye which results in a 3D still image. You can then learn viewing techniques (cross-eyed/parallel) so you can see them anytime or you can use a vr box for your phone. I find those much truer to reality than regular photos and they're quite easy to make with specialized apps. To me it's like looking into a snowglobe but of anything you want

Only time will tell if I will be normal or if I'll be one of those guys that taxidermies his dogs because he doesn't want to see them go.
