Matt Damon said no to Avatar - thinks it could have made him $250 million

Matt Damon turned down a major role years ago – except this role was one that could have made the Oscar-winner upwards of $250 million.

How much did he make off those crypto commercials?

Fortune favors the bold, Matt. A lesson learned the hard way.

@inkican

After Titanic, I don't know how any actor could turn down a gig with James Cameron. Even if it sucked, you'd almost be guaranteed to make money.

I think it could be more that James Cameron is known for taking a decade to have a movie made. He may not have wanted to commit for that long.

Most of that decade doesn't include the actors though. Zoe Saldana was in both Avatars and still had time to do several Marvel movies in between.
