You don't actually need a parachute to go skydiving...

It's not the falling that kills you, it's the sudden stop

There have been a couple people that survived falling without a working parachute. Crazy rare, though.

As long as you can figure out that first step you're fine!

You only need one if you plan to skydive twice.

You could also use a wingsuit, or a whole lot of helium balloons.
