One that I wasn't sure about asked about a NAS. It seemed the question was about dedicated NAS devices, and I built my own NAS (desktop PC + drives + btrfs + samba, etc).

I answered "no," but I think it would be interesting to capture that distinction in the next one. I.e. Do you use a NAS product?

  • Yes (commercial)
  • Yes (DIY)
  • No

And then a follow-up about what that NAS offers (i.e. just NAS stuff, or can it host apps?).

Make sure to not refresh the page, else it seems like all progress is lost.
I found out simultaneously that I enabled pull down to refresh the page in Firefox Android.

Edit: The survey wasn't created by me, I just shared it.

I filled the form approximately 5 or 6 times out before I was finally done....

One thing is that education isn't the same globally. You should probably have an other option to account for that.

@Chewy7324 Just added my self hosting. Not a whole lot of mentions of lemmy/mastodon/fediverse apps. That would be a nice category for next time.

I'm not the creator of the survey, but I've just send them the link to this discussion on Mastodon, so they can take the feedback into account.

Nice survey until started to ask about specific software names. Im not interested in disclosure that info.

Why not?

Privacy. Doing the survey they have my IP. I don't want they know my software too. The more information you disclosure, the more you are vulnerable. I'm aware that security by obscurity is not a thing, I'm more concerned about profiling and correlation.
