Air cooling is a conspiracy by gpu companies to get people to burn out their gpus earlier so they'll buy a new graphics card sooner (or something like that)

And yes: that's 8 sticks of ram. I built this during the glorious but short-lived time in my life where I had extra money to play with.

Depends on the type and age more I think. I just picked up another pair of rdimms for the xeon that runs my nas. They used to be super expensive but pretty cheap now. Heh
