And colonies were more a fact of life for the British Empire at that point.

This community is meant to be for historical photos. This only fits in the most technical sense, in that it's a potentially historical photo (I don't know whether the photo itself is contemporary, which is what would fit, IF it fits at all) of historical media that is not photographic.
