That's it. That's what happened.
Context: I mostly do settlement building. I run around booty cheeks out to the wind because it makes things easier (specifically the glitch for lowering settlement size.)
- Fast travel to Zimonja.
- Hear death claw noises and "yer fucked m8" music.
- Slam ESC.
- Scream\laugh because i had just been thinking to myself how funny\terrible it would be if something like this happened.
- Alt+F9 to record because of course I'm gonna record my naked ass sprinting away from him
- ESC again and book it into the crowd of settlers spraying bullets at me and big lizard.
Never seen a death claw up there before in my 500+ hrs on this game.

It doesn't have to be just guns either. It has to do with how many polygons the item has - i.e how complicated the item looks. A basic wooden box is going to make the size go down less than a super complicated looking gun, piece of armor etc.
