Is there a way to crop the field of vision / frame of the webcam?

I'm on a Legion Lenovo Slim 5. The webcam shows too much area around me during video calls (the browser based teleconferencing tool that I use doesn't have settings to adjust this).

I tried the cameractrls app, but it doesn't offer any way to crop or zoom in. Any other suggestions?

2 things you can try.

  1. Electrical tape on the camera. Simple but not elegant.
  2. Use OBS and create a virtual camera that's fed by your camera. You can crop/adjust that how you like.

Thank you. Does OBS refer to this: https://obsproject.com/ ?

Thats it. It's a little difficult to get setup but I used that to get my Canon T2i setup as a webcam. You'll also want to set it up to auto launch at login/startup. That are a ton of tutorials and videos on it since most streamers use it.

Awesome, thank you. I'll give that a go

Download Cameractris from the pop store and use the zoom function.
