And every time you remember it you rewrite it back into your brain. It changes the context of that memory ever so slightly.
Super interesting. Your dreams are photocopies of photocopies. Seperate but related topic: A few years ago doctors made a new drug that prevents memories from being recorded at all. Then they asked truama/PTSD victims to remember the details of what happened to them. They pulled the memories out, were unable to reimprint them, and were permanently cured of their trauma and PTSD. It doesnt always work, but pretty neat huh? If you have ever had PTSD you know how miraculous it is to be freed of something like that.
