I will never understand why this is an issue. If a qualified doctor certifies that you have no more than 3 months, then why be forced to waste away in a nursing home or even worse burdening a family member as you slowly die.
So it may seem at first blush, but that it is happening particularly now, particularly in countries like Canada and UK has darker undertones. Make Room! Make Room! like ones.
I know what you are talking about regarding to unburden the health system lets just let the patient die now even though they may have much more time left. I would of course disagree with that. Sad that even with something as final as death some governments are playing politics rather than allowing a physician with no skin in the game to assess the patient
canada went down the slippery slope real fucking fast from "hey maybe suffering people with no prospects for surviving a painful cancer should be able to peace out" to " hey you need a wheelchair ramp to your door to not be homeless, maybe you should just commit legal suicide"
