There was a time when sneering at international law would not have been a good look for someone aspiring to be Prime Minister of Canada.
But, charting new territory, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre contemptuously called Justin Trudeau “woke” for indicating Canada would abide by a ruling of the International Criminal Court (ICC) — a court that Canada helped establish to punish war criminals.
Poilievre specifically rejects the legitimacy of the ICC charges against Netanyahu, on the specious grounds that Netanyahu was democratically elected.

It's clear as to why the incoming US President wants heads of government to be considered above the law: Otherwise, he'd be arrested. I wonder what Poilievre's motive might be. Planning on committing some war crimes?

The Conservative stance on Israel has been the same for a very long time, and Pierre's stance on the matter is in no way shocking.
He is the lap dog of an ex-PM who literally believes the rapture will begin in Canada and support of Israel is an important means to that end.
Nothing he says about Israel should come as a shock to anyone even partially aware of politics.

Yes. The lobby is strong here.
The same things happening on campus. Anti Israeli gov speech is antisemitic by law and a criminal, punishable, offense (not sure if that bill passed yet).
But, yeah, I'm still surprised JT agreed to abide with the ICC warrant.

Funny how many of his sycophantic wood stroking bros are anti (((globalist))) yet don't know half his cabinet, backers, and himself are/were WEF members, pro Israel, and actual global elitists.
