I think this is the first time I've ever encountered an "I like my women" comment that wasn't explicitly misogynistic (outside of the "my women" part).

I got some blue ones off Etsy in my vivarium! Super cool little dudes. Along with the millipedes, springtails and snails I find, they eat all the plant detrius. Being, ya know, detritivores and all.

Girls or woodlice?

Caboose12000@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 1y

oh cocks, I was thinking of woodlice again

Anticorp@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Huh, I did not know that potato bugs/rolly pollies are called woodlice. I am aware that calling woodlice (heh, new word!) potato bugs is a regional thing, and that term could mean a number of different bugs. Anyways, your comment led me to look up woodlouse out of curiosity as to what blue bugs you got from Etsy, and I learned something new today! Something I probably should have learned 45 years ago, but whatever. Thanks!

There was a fantastic thread a while back of everyone posting their name for isopods.
This Australian says slaters.
