While I started my import journey on the Sega Saturn, my love for the PSone was rekindled when I started importing for it in 1999 as well.
Discovering quite a few games that never saw release outside of Japan.

These two are such a great example.

Umihara Kawase Shun and Umihara Kawase Shun Second Edition.
The first one made me fall in love with the series and had me hunt down the original game on Super Famicom soon after.
I've bought every single Umihara game since. 😊
