Man as much as i love the man for creating my favorite soundtrack of all time, he never created anything even remotely comparable before or after lotr. I always wondered: What the hell happened with the guy at that time?

He knew that this was his chance to deliver, that it was his duty to humanity to deliver on that one task, and so he did.

Jokes aside, I certainly perform better when I know that something I'm doing will affect more people.
