I don't expect gifts, I don't give gifts. not for Christmas at least. I prefer the quality time over anything.

if I'm to do gifts, its either handmade (takes time) or I make sure it's something there person genuinely wants before even buying it

It's nice to give and receive gifts though

The Chinese got it right. Envelope with money in it. Just have to choose what shade of red the envelope is.

simple. don't get gifts. if you're buying just because it's the time of the year to do so, it just seems shallow
