Not criticizing your posting at all but this is such a click bait pointless video. No duh it’s gambling what in the world could this video discuss further
The video covers a lot more than just the gambling itself. These games are designed to attack not just your wallet, but your time - that's the real cost.
Definitely not slot machines. They're known for having addicts stuck there all day. I definitely see the same thing happen at corner stores all the time, but with scratch off lottery games.
I don't get the appeal of these gatcha games. There are better games they are ripping off, I guess the moe characters carry these games for some people.
I played one because I really liked all the character designs. Eventually I stopped playing because it was too much of a daily time commitment, and my own need to be efficient and use all the free time-gated resources was stressing me out. Also, I realised I didn't really enjoy the core gameplay that much, and the writing was really long-winded.
Kinda goes to show how much likeable characters can carry a game.

No, real gambling is respectful of your time. They aim to take money as fast as possible.

Exactly. And many slot addicts literally don't want to hit the jackpot because they want the steady dopamine hits from smaller wins.

Mystery boxes are another similar predatory business model that has brought similar predatory practices even to RL.
