A bit too much excitement for this sub but at the risk of this I can recommend taking some old underwear elastic and sewing it to the slippers as a heel loop, that way they do less slipping.
Nice! I have some crocs as my house slippers. But crocs are fucking ugly, so I made sure to get the ugliest I could find. Insulating slippers make my feet sweaty.
My cousin uses the boot liners in the house. Big floppy felt liners look goofy as hell, but I imagine they're warm and they seem to last a while, I think he has had the same pair for years.

Wool is better for sweating and worth trying. They are expensive but will last. I bought my wife a pair she’s had for ~10 years.

I'm with you, brother. Just with the slight difference that mine are over heels, so that I don't trip going down the stairs.
