Man aged 59 and ¾ discovers climate change after dismissing it for 30 years on his show. Still wont say it's man made.

Of course same old story "piece of shit refuses to accept reality until it personally affects him."

The scene in the first episode of Clarkson's Farm where his neighbor tears into him for ignoring climate change is quite satisfying

But that's okay because he's not very funny.

I didn't even realize he was trying to be funny.

As usual, the "it's not real until it's my idea" narcissism that I've expected from right wing chodes.

2019...

Which is probably why it's 59 3/4 instead of 64 3/4 like that other post.

I'd love to see an educated guess on how much c02 this cunt pantry sent into the atmosphere during his 30 year career.

Duamerthrax@lemmy.world · 32 pts · 1y

Considering what's involved in his vacations and shows, way more then his fair share. Considering he helped normalize climate change denial to the masses, even more.

He's the Oh No So Anyway guy, right?

It's like that Flat Earther, it's good that they admitted their mistake but it needn't have taken that long or required that much of a journey...

I'd settle for "I'm a car show host, why the fuck are you looking to me for climate advice. For the love of everything you hold dear, listen to the fucking scientists"

saigot@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Like it or not he is a big part of deciding the direction of car culture and what cars are cool and what cars are lame. Had he focused more on electric cars* or spent less time demonizing and othering bikes and buses then things could have gone better.

* Electric Cars are not an ultimate solution to climate change but they are important transitionary technology while countries rework their infrastructure.

Interesting. I was unaware that a car show host was responsible for global emissions standards.
