c/whatisthisthing · by argentcorvid@midwest.social · 3y[solved - clay pidgeon thrower] What is this tool I found at a thrift store? The two arms are sprung so that as you push on the handle they separate, and then return to position. 75 points · 13 comments · view on lemmy.world

Looks like a Linksys Router to me

This is the correct answer. It's a hand helt clay pigeon thrower for skeet shooting.

The black metal part reminds me of my futon couch, has a similar mechanism for when you fold/unfold it. Could this be an arm for some kind of recliner chair?
SaintWacko@midwest.social · 2 pts · 3y
That seems like an unlikely thing to have a thong on it, though...
MrCaturdayNight@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y
Just curious is the thing you call a thong what I call a spring?
SaintWacko@midwest.social · 2 pts · 3y
No, the thong is the leather loop on the handle
MrCaturdayNight@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y
That makes sense. Thanks!

I had the same thought, this looks like the handle for a recliner.

The consensus is that it's a clay pigeon thrower.
