And if you can't buy Canadian, there's nothing wrong with Not American products that come from our actual allies and friends from around the world.

edit: grammar... again

Had this happen to me. Live Clean shampoo and conditioner is my go to because I thought it was Canadian. At some point in my loyalty to the brand (dating back well before this timeline...) it was sold to a Belgium holding company.

But better there than US.

I'm totally fine with spending extra time during shopping if it means I can say fuck you to Trump

It’s like a new hobby!

The USA thanks you for sticking it to the orange nazi!! Keep it up Canada!

I do my best to check as I'm putting things into my cart, but also double-check at the checkout. I caught a few things that had 'Canada' on the front of the box ("#1 brand in Canada!") that was actually made in the USA. I put it aside at the checkout. Putting it aside at the checkout and demonstrating to others that you won't buy American is encouragement for others to do the same.

...or it's trash the staff needs to put back while thinking some unfair things about you.

The sad truth is, people knowing your motivations is not a guaranteed thing, and they're going to misinterpret your actions.

Fortunately, lots of basic things are actually real easy to figure out even without checking labels. In Ontario at least, milk, eggs, most meat, grains and potatoes are almost all are Canadian, including products that are mostly made from those.

As long as you cook, it's real easy to stay on this side of the boarder when it comes to groceries, and a lot of these products already have labels to advertise being local.

You better believe I was double checking labels last weekend! I’ve also decided to look into local farms to get those bi-weekly produce boxes this summer as an extra nail in the coffin.
