Hmm... That privacy policy goes against a lot of the reasons why I'm on Lemmy in the first place.

That's unfortunately part of using the ad network. If you pay for ad-free (or Ultra) the ad network code never even gets initialized and so all that stuff just goes away.

Yeah, people really need to let go of their weird baseless brand loyalty. This is a different site, that works differently, no need to cling to a weird paid, locked in and possible bad privacy app environment.

Dude I knew Sync had fanboys but the shit I have seen today is absolute insanity.

I love Sync but it's definitely smarter to try before you buy.

I couldn't even take over my Sync for Reddit yearly subscription. I'll let it run out and in January I'll decide if I need it for the fediverse too. I'm just too lazy to ask ljdawson if he can transfer lol

More clients for Lemmy -> more people on Lemmy -> more instances for Lemmy -> more options.

Already my feed feels richer than a month ago, so happy to support Sync. And I don't care about the privacy policy stuff. I'll eventually move to some other app that's better at it, but for now Sync will do.
