My special interest right now is languages. Mainly Esperanto but I also want to learn Spanish. I've been looking at the same bible verse (not religious btw, just easy to compare diffrent translations with each other) in different languages. I will demonstrate the fascinating world of languages.
Modern English: "There is no healing of your bruise; your wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of you shall clap the hands over you: for on whom has not your wickedness passed continually?"
Early Modern English: "There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?"
Middle English: "Thi sorewe is not priuy, thi wounde is worst; alle men that herden thin heryng, pressiden togidere hond on thee, for on whom passide not thi malice euermore?"
Spanish: "No hay cura para tu quebradura; tu herida se encrudeció: todos los que oyeron tu fama, batirán las manos sobre ti, porque ¿sobre quién no pasó continuamente tu malicia?"
Esperanto: "Ne resaniĝas via vundo, doloriga estas via ulcero; ĉiu, kiu aŭdas la sciigon pri vi, aplaŭdas pri vi; ĉar kiun ne trafis senĉese via malboneco?"
Afrikaans: "Daar is geen herstel vir jou verbreking nie; jou wond is ongeneeslik; almal wat die tyding omtrent jou verneem, slaan hulle hande saam oor jou; want oor wie het jou boosheid nie voortdurend heengegaan nie?"
Latin: "Non est obscura contritio tua ; pessima est plaga tua. Omnes qui audierunt auditionem tuam compresserunt manum super te : quia super quem non transiit malitia tua semper ?"
Klingon: "pa' ghaH ghobe' healing lIj wound, vaD lIj injury ghaH fatal. Hoch 'Iv Qoy the report vo' SoH clap chaj ghopmey Dung SoH; vaD 'Iv ghajbe' felt lIj endless cruelty?"
