Any ideas what's causing the patterning in the algae on my aquarium glass?

Your looking at it. It's the snail monchies. If you have algae eating fish in there, same.

Mayby the snails crawling on the glass?

Probably from the snails or fish, but it looks kinda like a big fingerprint!
