when i type "hai", a dolphin emoji pops up and my phone's autocorrect switches to other languages sometimes. in what language is "hai" related to dolphins?
it also autocorrects to german despite the fact that i don't speak it, but i don't believe hai is german for dolphin??

Phone's haunted.
Also... Google translate says hai is German for shark. So there's that.

It is also Finnish for shark.
ETA: it also is Estonian, and Norwegian for shark.

At least in Chinese it's 海豚 (haitun).

In Dutch, the word is "haai" for shark.

It's the same in Afrikaans. But there's a 60% overlap in the vocabulary there, so it makes sense.

Dolphins are famous for their friendly greetings, and make over 4.1 billion dollars a year in the greeting card industry.
