Seems like a very good display for the price.

Although HyperOS and adware infested apps are a massive let down. And since this is Xiaomi, you can't install custom ROMs from what I remember.

You can, it is just very inconvenient to unlock bootloader.

You can still install custom ROMs, I'm running one right now. They make you wait a week to unlock the bootloader, however it seems there's a possibility of that going away in the future, it's not very clear.

But also, seeing as the phone is using a mediatek chip, your custom ROM support will be limited.

I thought the unlock request feature was removed a few years ago? Guess not...

It's not. Finding the latest version of the unlock tool is the biggest obstacle.
