Apparently it's called "The New Governess" but that's all I've been able to figure out:

That tells me a lot! She's a young teacher, and the girls are wondering what she'll be like.

I can't make out what's in her hand. A watch? The medals left by her dead father? The tiny suspenders of her child who died at a young age?

The harness for her cat, who's in the bag?
