Screenshot of the above comment, without any emojis

TimeSquirrel@kbin.melroy.org · 45 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Well...yes?

Like living in a house constantly undergoing a remodel. Sometimes the plumber is going to accidently route the toilet drain pipe to the shower head before the inspector gets there to check it.

gon@lemm.ee · 34 pts · 1y

That is one of the most horrible things I have ever fucking read.

tulliandar@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

Kind of like bathroom scene in β€œThe Man With One Red Shoe”, only that scene is funny, not gross.

Oh no is what i thought when i saw that the volume icon in my waybar also dissapeared for some reason

WalnutLum@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

If you're using flatpak and Firefox you have to un-sandbox the font files from both flatpak and firefox's content sandbox

callyral@pawb.social · 1 pts · 1y

I'm using NixOS and Zen Browser, switching to the stable branch and reinstalling NixOS fixed the emoji issue

Which side are you on?

  • People use too many emojis
  • There's not enough variety of emojis
TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 1y (4 replies)

I'm on the side of "THERES NO FUCKING TRAFFIC CONE EMOJI?? I SWEAR THERE USED TO BE ONE, WHERE DID IT GO?!?!!"

Khanzarate@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 1y

VLC icon, obviously.

VLC's agenda has always been being the only traffic cone. It even stands for Very Large Cone.

Don't fall for Big Cone's agenda.

tulliandar@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y

There’s definitely a- hey, wtf? I swear there was one. Is this a Mandela effect thing? Like, there used to be one but we suddenly, somehow got switched to this weird timeline where it doesn’t exist?

guiguinofake@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

πŸ“‡there is a rotating adress organizer thingy yet no traffic cone? This is bullshit.

TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1y

there's a trackball emoji too, when is the last time I even saw a trackball πŸ–²οΈ

Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 1y

Exactly, now input your emojipass.

MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 1y

What is this? Fischer-Price CLI for toddlers?!?

callyral@pawb.social · 2 pts · 1y

Funny thing is that the only place where emojis were working before I fixed it was the foot terminal emulator lol

apprehensively_human@lemmy.ca · 11 pts · 1y (3 replies)

You send me a πŸ‘, I send a πŸ₯• back.

You send a 🎑, that's pretty abstract.

festnt@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

is that a button or a futuristic flying police car

0xD@infosec.pub · 4 pts · 1y

It's a trackball mouse, but I like the police car interpretation! :D

kekmacska@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 1y

There are emoji selectors for linux. But i don't use emojis on a desktop os

Doxin@pawb.social · 1 pts · 1y

Honestly I've never had an easier time getting that sort of thing to work than on linux. As soon as there's a font installed providing emoji pretty much any program will pick up on that. Even got a Toki Pona font working just by installing it. Now I can IRC in languages no one speaks!

Tiger_Man_@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 0 pts · 1y

the internet is so much better without emojis
