Actually being the only one who

Be locked in a room full of people such that the asker is, in fact, the only person in the room who does whatever he's trying to get validation for

Exclusion dan isolation.

Needing to enter a three-way no holds barred battle with the latest people to comment "I didn't have this on my 2025 bingo card" and "this is the worst timeline". Winner gets to keep using their term as much as they like, losers may never use theirs again

It depends, in my opinion. The structure of the question is intrinsically asking for validation. For harmless or even quirky things, it might be fine. But all too often it is being used by people who are overly obsessed with validation, and it is being used as a way to justify shitty behavior. eg "Am I the only one who steals candy from babies??"
