A few common issues:

"I'm not seeing all the content"

Lemmy allows you to filter out content based on the language, but some new users will set this incorrectly in their settings. Please see this post for help. You can also post in either this community, or !languagesettings@lemmy.zip to ask for more help.

"I want to block posts with certain words"

It is possible to use uBlock Origin to do this in the web browser. See this post for detailed instructions.

I would love that, thank you so much for offering! I've always seen AI as a placeholder at most, and I'm hoping over time people will replace the images everywhere that I've used them.

maybe my original take on the image you used for this post or something else that you prefer.

Up to you 😊

Thank you for this, looks great!

Small questions, as this community is used by all instances new joiners, would it be possible to add those direct links under the fedecan guides? something like

otter@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yes good call, I just edited them in. How does that look?

Hello @Otter@lemmy.ca

https://piefed.social/c/newtolemmy@lemmy.ca doesn't show the post as pinned, could you please try to unpin/repin it?

otter@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 1y (4 replies)

Done, how does it look now?

Blaze@piefed.social · 3 pts · 1y

Hm, I don't think it worked. @rimu@piefed.social, can you maybe have a look? https://lemmy.ca/modlog/326446

Blaze@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Hello again @otter@lemmy.ca, the bug has been fixed on Piefed's side, so if you could unpin/repin, that should work!

otter@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Done!

Blaze@piefed.social · 2 pts · 1y

And it worked, thank you!

There are two options for you

  1. Find an instance that defederates the instance you want to block, and use it as your main instance (e.g. sopuli.xyz https://sopuli.xyz/instances blocks hexbear.net)
  2. Switch to https://piefed.social/ which allows users to block all users from an instance at the user level

Which instance do you want to block?
