If you select single player online from loading of save data it will let you pause, you can even add pause function to the item wheel/bar

Just a heads up some cut scenes can't be paused.

Can confirm this is correct. One does not pause multi-player sessions

Bro is criticising the one thing that works. I played the whole story mode in single player while working from home and always paused when there was an incoming teams call.

There are too many cutscenes for what this game is imho. I don’t blame them for trying to take the story up a notch, but pushing all these cutscenes really only works in a game where the story is really good like Red Dead Redemption. Honestly the flow of hunting to cutscenes to story-hunt like Rey Dau is really awkward and jarring. Maybe I’m missing an indicator icon or something but sometime it feels like I don’t need to prepare because I’m just going to another camp or moving the dialogue along… but then there’s a cutscene and a monster I’m not prepared to fight. But then again it’s just a different rhythm than other MH games so maybe I’m still adjusting to that
