I always felt weird about people spreading around a woman's picture. A woman who, most likely didn't, isn't aware of it.

with a work place and instruction to "say hi"

Meh, .ca implemented a server wide filter. None of us even receive the DMs anymore.

So did I on my instance. But I've seen a new version floating around that has the text embedded into the image so no text filters catch it

I actually got a new one, some random new account with no post history, so either a new bot or someone who just decided I was special.

It's weird that Lemmy of all places doesn't respect the privacy of others.

iirc it was censored for a week or so when the spam just begun, however now it's just a "everybody has seen it, what's the point?" thing

I think I got the one you guys are talking about. Their account was banned before I had time to question if it was a meme I wasn't understanding.
