Hitler had majority support amongst the German population well into the 50s. After turning Germany from the second most powerful country in Europe to the fifth most powerful in Germany. That, of course, is putting aside everything horrific that Hitler and the Nazis did on a moral level. No amount of failure will shake idiots of their delusions.
If only there were some kind of always-available communications source that could make understanding this easy and commonplace. Preferably without commercials, but y'know, whatever.
Back before he became Governor, California had a great mental health system. Anyone who needed help could find a bed. Reagan decided cut costs by closing the hospitals. Pretty soon Cali had a big homeless problem, which was solved by hiring more cops and building more jails.
