I know Rudeus still manages to be oblivious to Sylphie’s gender all the way from S1 and still doesn’t recognize her but why is Sylphie keeping her identity a secret to him?

I suppose it's to keep up appearance for the princess. Fitz has been with her for some time and is likely a tightly controlled secret. Guess we'll have to wait to find out why that is. I hope it's not some dumb or shallow reason.

Still doesn’t explain why she can just tell him her situation and keep a tight lip about it. It would be a given for both Ariel and Luke to assume she would have reconciled with him.

It's actually a common wand that every teacher gives their student when they graduate (even Rudy got it from Roxy). Most mages would've outgrown it and got a new one or a staff, but to Sylphy it's special because it's from Rudeus

Late to the party because my week's free time went into VNs, but:
Damn. This episode is really good. I want to scream at Rudeus for not recognising who Fittz is (come on! You're from a world with hair dyes! Think a bit for a moment, you baka!), but getting wholesome with "him" anyway.
