its a great app. The search feature for finding the destination is kind of abysmal, though. At least in Tenerife

Uhu, I often find myself having to search an address for a restaurant or other destination to input in OM. It makes sense why Google has a huge advantage here (and the other semi-major players in the space as well), but it’s still a bit of a shame.

You can always add any restaurant to open street map so that it comes up in Organic Maps of course. That's what I do most of the time when I can't find something on there. Streetcomplete isn't a bad android app to get started if you've never contributed to OSM before.

i keep forgetting that this isn't standard, like duh how else would a map app work?

but yeah no it's just normal for most people that they can't use the map without internet 🫠
