Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company - 3 Scots Aftershave splash
Post Shave: Ginger's Garden - Unscented Aftershave balm (+ menthol)
Fragrance: Chanel - Égoïste EdT
My first shave with a CGC soap went incredibly well. Great base that was easy to dial in, super slick, and the scent on No. 11 was super relaxing.
I reached for the 34C because of all the recent chatter around the RR GOAT (which I'm super excited to try). It's still such a solid razor. I might prefer something more aggressive at this point, but I've spent so much time with this razor in the past that it's like shaving on easy mode.
Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Nebulagance" - TurnNShave Quartermoon 26mm synthetic
Razor: GEM - MMOC (first gen, 1930-1932)
Blade: Personna - GEM PTFE (9)
Lather: Barrister and Mann - Lime
Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Sea Spice Lime Aftershave splash
Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented Aftershave balm
Fragrance: Barrister and Mann - Lavender, Interrupted EdT
Quick single pass before heading into the city for dinner with some of my wife's colleagues.
After shaving with this sample of Lime, I'm very tempted to grab a set. It's both an incredibly realistic lime scent and surprisingly complex and deep. Super impressed by this one.
Soap- Stirling varen. Now this is a deep and funky fougere. I like fougere but there's a tiny bit of burn from the oakmoss.
Rankings worst to best
panta rei gattopardo - poor performance and a bit of burn
caties bubbles le marche du rasage - nice scent but it burns
bodyshop maca root and aloe - good for a brick and mortar shop
signature capra - good performance but who likes unscented
mitchells woolfat - see above. Also about to leave my den to cross the pond
elysium pineapple ambrosia - scent dry down is a bit odd
From here on the scents are all good.
wickham gothic revival - decent scent but not my favourite soap
grooming dept mallard corretto - like a black forest gateaux but too sweet for me
wickham ninfeo di egeria - light and bright. This one has grown on me and id be tempted to do a tub kill to really get to know it. Soap performance lets it down
Stirling varen - great scent but a bit of burn
signature brittania - simple but effective
Mammoth smash - touch too sweet for me but I love it
MdC fougere - great soap and scent
barrister and mann sandalwood - top tier scent and soap

Getting more accustomed to this base and it’s wicked easy to use and the lather is really good.

Nice Saturday shave with an odd mix of scents that work as a nice progression.

Good and close shave, but I should maybe refresh the edge on the razor.
Have a good evening!

Great razor. Close, but not as close as my shaves have been with the RazoRock goat :-)
