Summary

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna accused Hungary of siding with Russia, saying it’s "on Putin’s team" and no longer aligned with European interests.

Hungary maintains close ties with Moscow and recently discussed continued economic cooperation during a visit by its foreign minister.

Tsahkna urged forming a "coalition of the willing" to bypass Hungary’s veto power in EU decisions requiring unanimity.

He warned that revoking Hungary’s voting rights under Article 7 is increasingly likely, citing Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s actions as threats to EU security and unity.

No doubt about it. Hungary should be suspended in their EU rights.

Literally everyone knows this. Even I know this.

Sorry, is this not already happening? I thought this was definitely already being very heavily discussed.

This too, aren't we like 75% there already? Genuinely asking, I don't know, but this was my impression.

The coalition of the willing stuff was for Ukraine, not for everything, so far.

Article 7 has been "increasingly likely" for the past 15 years.

It's the wording itself that matters here. A MoFA of a small, but relevant nation using the exact phrasing of article 7 is how you get the ball rolling. This is a good sign.

Its not that everyone doesn't know about it, its that the obvious needs to be stated by politicians and appropriate actions taken.

Here's a peace deal. Europe gets Ukraine, Russia gets Hungary.

What about Turkey? I know this isn’t about them, but it’s kind of the same problem.
