The name "edgar" has really fallen off as of recently.

Gives too much "send cats to Timbuktu" energy.

Maybe you don't live on the coast or near any Hispanic communities.

the name is synonymous with excellence in the PNW

Edgar Martinez is a god damn hero

GrassCat@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Edgar is also the hero in Shakespeare’s King Lear. I’m from MI and while everyone loves Edgar, my favorite Mariner is still Ichiro, even saw him hit a HR at Safeco once.

Ichiro is my favorite also. i was lucky enough to be at the game when he had his only Grand Slam. Griffy Jr also had an HR that game. On the way out I bought a hat and sharpied the date on it

No one likes the lower case "e". Everyone wants upper case for proper nouns these days.

People aren't too fond of hearbeats under the floorboards apparently.

I don't know if I've met an edgar in my 40something years on earth. I've met edwards. I guess it's feasible that some 'ed' I met (only met a handful in my life) that didn't say their full name might have been an edgar, but I doubt it.
