I got into an argument with some coworkers over whether or not Gonzo counts as a sex icon.

Everyone agreed Miss Piggy is, but it was 50/50 on Gonzo.

Now that's the kind of workplace argument I can get behind.

Gonzo is absolutely a sex icon. He played Charles Dickens in the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol that was ever made.

Isn't he like legit an alien? I vaguely remember watching a movie about his origin story as a kid in cinema so I could be wrong

You are correct. The other reply is wrong. This is the movie you're referring to. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muppets_from_Space

His identity was never revealed. He is referred to as a "whatever," or a "thing." He is frequently referenced as a nonbinary character, by fans, but his species, extraterrestrial or not, was never revealed.

Personally I think he is the personification of Hunter S Thompson's id.

Gonzo was great in movies, basically had it's own genre. Then slave-allegations surfaced (he trafficked a minor to some royalty).
