I was going to give it a try, but there's no way I'm making an Epic Games account just to play this game with friends. I'll pass on this one.

Based on the steam page it doesn't look like an epic games account is required at all.

Haven't tried it myself, however the steam reviews all put it at positive. Seems it has many references to runescape, looks great, and is a very well fleshed out game for being in early access.

Even runs on steam deck in case if anyone plays games that way. Not great, but it runs!

Yeah, I read some, and I am worried about it being a little barebones. Runescape nostalgia is a huge draw though.

I really like the idea of RuneScape continuing as a franchise rather than an MMO in the future. It's probably a safer way to keep it alive in the long run.

Besides, they could do a lot with the universe.

Agreed, I'm definitely going to pass on that because of the Epic account requirement.
