TGV Réseau Duplex

TGV Réseau Duplex

Photos are very meh because i had too big of a lens for this distance and I wasn't expecting to see this rare of a train there

There are only 19 units of those made and they are mainly used on LGV Est (Paris - Strasbourg - German border), so seeing that in Rennes was unexpected

Read power car of a TGV Réseau Duplex departing from the Rennes train station. It's unit 612

so as of right now my list of TGV trains spotted and photographed is:

✅ TGV Atlantique
✅ TGV Réseau
✅ TGV Duplex (1st gen)
✅ TGV Dasye (2nd gen Duplex)
✅ TGV 2N2 / Euroduplex (3rd gen)
✅ TGV Réseau Duplex

Missing are:
❌ TGV Sud-Est (unit 16, preserved and running on special occasions)
❌ TGV POS
❌ TGV M
❌ Eurostar TGVs
❌ TGV IRIS (running laboratory train measuring the LGV network)

@rail_@bark.lgbt You group all TGV 2N2 ? Because technically the Océan and Euroduplex have different classes.

rail_@bark.lgbt · 1 pts · 1y

Technically I took some shitty photos of TGV M from the window of a train rolling towards gare de Paris Est but that doesn't count

I also NEARLY spotted one going from La Rochelle to Paris through Rennes but didn't have a chance to take a picture

@rail_@bark.lgbt and we have some of them in Ouigo España right?

rail_@bark.lgbt · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

@akalanka@masto.es no

Ouigo trains are modified TGV Dasye (2nd generation Duplex)

moof@cupoftea.social · 1 pts · 1y

@rail_@bark.lgbt @akalanka@masto.es Ouigo Spain is a different service and company. It uses rebranded Euroduplex trains, as it made it easier for SNCF to get certification, given that they wanted to run inOui Euroduplexes from Barcelona to Paris.

@akalanka @rail_ those are Euroduplex, a later and fairly different model

rail_@bark.lgbt · 0 pts · 1y (5 replies)

@moof @akalanka no, they aren't

Euroduplexes are the 3rd generation

OuiGo TGV are modified Dasye (2nd generation Duplex)

@rail_@bark.lgbt @akalanka@masto.es were talking about Ouigo España. Not Ouigo France

@rail_ @akalanka here’s one in Madrid - Puerta de Atocha - María Zambrano that I photographed and rode in April 2024.

A Ouigo-branded TGV Euroduplex in Madrid - Puerta de Atocha - María Zambrano station.

@moof @akalanka a, that makes sense

moof@cupoftea.social · 1 pts · 1y

@rail_@bark.lgbt @akalanka@masto.es it also has Spanish language signage inside including branding the top floor as “cielo” or sky, and the bottom floor as “tierra”, or earth. Their advertising makes a number of puns about being equivalent to flying because taking you to the sky. And of course “el cielo” is the Spanish word for heaven.

@moof @akalanka i assumed they were the same model as Ouigo TGV in France

@eckler@eldritch.cafe can attest i got very autistically happy upon seeing it and realizing what it is

@rail_@bark.lgbt these pictures are such a vibe...

rail_@bark.lgbt · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

@aroma@ohai.social I thought the bridge will be a nice spot but eh not really, cables and insulators are way too problematic

aroma@ohai.social · 1 pts · 1y

@rail_@bark.lgbt i honestly don't think so. the pictures look so damn cool i love them so much
