I de-squeaked my bed today

My bed had been squeaking every time I moved on my side and I'd wake my partner up every time I'd get up and get back into bed.

So today I took off the mattress and fastened all the screws and those round ikea things all their stuff has. It's now much better but the backboard still makes a small sound but I can't figure out where it's coming from.

... we all know why you did this. Put a pillow behind the backboard, horn dog.

I once unscrewed all fasteners on my bed and rescrewed then with small pieces of cloth or paper, whatever fit better.

No squeaking since. Very relaxing.

That is a great idea! Next time I have a burst of bed fixing energy I'll give that a go!

you can get fiber washers at your local home improvement center. If you're routinely stressing the joints on the bedframe, the fiber washers last a lot longer than paper.

I needed this, thank you

I screwed L-brackets (I think that's what they're called) into each place the frame joined. That also worked. The bed felt less wobbly after too, but I think that was just the halo effect.
