I've got the opposite problem. At work, I sometimes have to cross the road near a busy mini roundabout, and the number of times Iโ€™ve almost been hit by a car is shockingly high. Cars will signal that theyโ€™re taking the first exit, only to suddenly accelerate straight ahead instead. Itโ€™s genuinely baffling.

My favorite hate during urban commuting: black SUV with soccer mom* talking on the phone, turning across the bikelane one-handed. No blinker, barely a glance in my direction. I always go as fast and as close as I can without endangering myself. Them shocked and suddenly braking (way too late of course) satisfies me, but far too many still don't notice.

But now I live in the countryside and that brings a whole different set of dangers with it.

* this had something to do with the times I was commuting - during the day, off rush hour.
