In the future, we and/or I would request that her name be applied only to particularly virulent and/or unpredictable diseases and pestilences. May her sudden wrath never find you.
This just means it's a variant with changes to the virus' properties. Might come with decreased vaccine efficacy, possible increased severity or spread, but it's not necessarily an increased public health risk, that'd be a "variant of concern", which is when the variant significantly changes the way the virus behaves.
