This has to be the dumbest thing I've seen a lawyer do. And I just re-watched Better Call Saul.

The two Calgary lawyers who hired a private investigator in 2021 to follow a Manitoba judge who'd been presiding over their court challenge of COVID-19 public health restrictions should be disbarred for their dishonourable professional conduct, argued a prosecutor for the Law Society of Alberta on Wednesday.

Anti-vaxxers, conspiracy types, and the right, in general, are lunatics.

They didn't learn their lesson, evidenced by attempting to destroy evidence after the fact, and they're only sorry that they're facing consequences, evidenced by their own we've had enough consequences-type statements.

Surely if not disbarred, they would brag about not being charged and advertise themselves as a lawyers for the anti-government types.

So, lying to the bar society about instructing the PI to destroy evidence, even at this stage? I hope they do what Manitoba did and disbar them permanently.
