Whatcha think about hosting a Lemvotes instance?

Hey johntash. Check out this guy's project. Lemvotes.

I'm not saying we should host it, but let's get it on the radar. Its a new project in rapid dev, even if we wanted to provide the service, we should wait for a stable rev.

But ... this thing bears watching. The guy is using instance-admin level perms to provide data that should be searchable by end users. I foresee some blowback. The dev may need support or a mirror in the future, and my own vote is firmly on their side.

Just check it out, man.

There's actually a view votes link in lemmy-ui, but it's only exposed to admins and mods:

It'd be nice if it was available to all since I think that's how some of the other fediverse software does it. Lemvotes still looks pretty convenient though because it can get all of the vote info into one place.

I'm mostly interested ... well because I have a stalker, and I'm jerk enough to likely attract more in the future ... but I like the effect it has when people are NOT anonymous.
When you have a history and reputation to protect, you are more apt to behave.
Fuk reddit anonymity. I ain't posting my name here, but it would not be too hard to figure out. And I'm ok with that.
