Toronto's local residential areas need to be taken back by the local community and residents that live within them.

This means restrictions on car traffic using residential streets as a throughways. This is achived with the addition of one-way streets, dead ends for cars and vehicles traffic while allowing pedestrians and cycling access.

A good video talking about these types of practices.

Jones Avenue like many other similar local streets lined with single family homes on both sides are utilized like throughways for non-local car traffic. This streets needs a complete redesign and "road diet".

Some example, while not perfect could be a start.
