I don't know, this might be good actually? Like the cronyism and weird pardons aren't good (typical Trump bullshit) but the guy has been in the prisons and seems serious about reform.

I don't trust anything this administration does but if this is what it says on the tin I'm at least cautiously optimistic.

The BOP has never had a formerly incarcerated inmate work as an employee at any level, according to a senior bureau official.

This is actually wild. I'm sure this guy is not someone to pick to break that streak, but you'd think they'd hire at least some people that have experienced the system.

Edit: after reading the article I don't see any major red flags about the guy. Might actually be a decent hire for once.

Who better to run a humanitarian prison system than someone who lived in prison. He may not be the right guy but his prison experience helps his odds I think.
