Is that a motherfuckin Compaq Presario 5000 keyboard?

shiroininja@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I don’t know, I got it for $2 at a thrift shop this weekend. It’s a compaq for sure. I got it to go with my early 90s IBM mouse. I got so excited I forgot to research it. I will definitely be doing that after work

I played so much Runescape on that keyboard. The actual old school Runescape, where your character was a shitty little sprite.

I really need to try to play it. My computer lab at school growing up was lacking. We had Oregon trail, chopper commando, etc.

I haven’t played a ton of old games besides doom, Age of empires, etc.

Although I played Warcraft and original counterstrike at a pc bong once.

My main experience with older pc games is like 2002-2007, when I finally was able to save and buy my own PC.

what is that gameboy clone?

shiroininja@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (3 replies)

It’s a case for a raspberry pi zero 2. It’s the retroflag GPI case.

It runs full Linux/retropie that you have to install and set up. You have to get the pi/sd card/batteries yourself. But i prefer it to the cheap TikTok ones. The support is really good and they’ve sent me spare parts

The new version can use a dock for your TV

Is it powerful enough to use the more complex GB shaders in retropie?

shiroininja@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y

I’m guessing yeah, unless they’re more costly than the PS1 because it can handle that well. I just haven’t messed with shaders much. I found this green one and kinda stuck with it. I need to do more exploring with it because I’ve had it for about 4 years now. I originally had a pi zero 1W in it, but I upgraded when the 2 came out.

I think the newest version of the case can take the pi compute module so you might have even more power with that
