Is it okay to promote new PieFed communities here?

I've created !polls@piefed.social. Normally I would go to the big community promo communities on Lemmy and promote it there. But, since this is a polls community and Lemmy doesn't support polls yet, the community is completely empty when viewed from Lemmy.

I don't really know where else I could go to tell people that this community exists. I hope it's okay to post it here.

is there a piefed promo based community?

Blaze@piefed.social · 1 pts · 1y

Not that I know of. Not that we need one either.

It doesn't make sense to post it there, since it's completely empty when viewed from Lemmy. Lemmy doesn't support polls yet, thus doesn't display poll posts.

It's not.

Lemmy doesn't support polls yet, thus doesn't display poll posts.

You don't need a poll to expose users to your community.

I'm talking about !polls@piefed.social. I opened it from feddit.org and from discuss.tchncs.de. Both are empty.

Newcommunities is not a Lemmy exclusive community. You can view it from Piefed instances as well. You might include a disclaimer in your post about not being able to see them from Lemmy instances.

You'll have to do a federation post like in the time before lemmy-federate: https://piefed.social/post/881763
